Location Overview

The city’s Oxford’s newest cycle friendly café and social space. Now in their second year, Common Ground opened in February 2018 and is the brainchild of Piotr Drabik and Jake Backus who met while working together at Cycle.Land.
The original concept began as a co-working share space for students, who were being kicked out of the city’s bustling cafes to make way for bigger spenders. Since then it’s moved beyond that and now represents a local safe space for students and non-students alike. Common Ground seeks to provide wellbeing and an opportunity to collaborate for those feeling excluded or isolated by the silence of the library or the soullessness of the high street café.bustling cafes to make way for bigger spenders. 1. This is my favourite in Oxford. Rough round the edges, but in a really good way. Coffee is wonderful and loads of yummy treats too – try the avocado brownie! Very friendly and always loads of people working there but still plenty of space.
